Here it is then, what you’ve all been waiting for I’m sure! The lowdown on all the Half Term activities in and around Letchworth. There’s loads going on so no need for any bored kids!

Saturday 14th – Sunday 22nd February

The Circus comes to Van Hage garden centre in Great Amwell. Tickets are £6 and can be booked online here.

Lambing event at Willows Farm. I can’t believe it’s lambing time already but all week at Willows you can meet and bottle feed the baby lambs and they’ve got lots of lamb themed indoor and outdoor activities. Find full details here.

Gullivers Land in Milton Keynes is open for half term and tickets are only £9.95 each. If you haven’t visited Gullivers before then check out my review on a previous blog post here.

Saturday 14th February

Valentine’s Day card and gift making at Dot to Dot in the Wynd, Letchworth. Drop-in and donation only.

10.30am: The Postman Pat movie is the kids club film at Broadway Cinema this Saturday. Tickets are only £1 and these are usually really popular so book tickets if you’re interested.

Sunday 15th February

Big Art Sunday at Dot to Dot. Drop in and create desert islands and map-making.

Monday 16th February

9.30-11am: Parent and child open Gym session at Marriotts Gymnastics in Stevenage. You’ve probably heard me banging on about these sessions before then I’ll bore you again because they are absolutely fab! Suitable for children from walking to 5 years they get an hour and a half of free play in the huge gymnastics hall with trampoline, balance beams, bars, rings, foam pits for jumping in…. Children must be directly supervised by an adult and no more than 2 children per adult. Make sure the childrens’ clothes have no buttons, belts or zips and they’re not wearing any jewellery. It’s £5 per child and no booking is required however these sessions are usually really popular and fill up pretty quickly so if you want to go my advice would be to arrive before 9.30!

11am: Half Term Singalong at the Secret Garden, Hitchin for 0-2 year olds. £5 per child includes stay and play.

11am-12pm and 2-3pm: Cardboard Creations at the Secret Garden, Hitchin. The Secret Garden have loads of fab creative activities this half term all with a recycling theme and today’s is all about boxes! Suitable for all ages, £5 includes stay and play, £7.50 includes stay and play and a kids lunch bag.

2pm: free film and popcorn at The Secret Garden.

3.30-5.30pm: Meet and greet charity kids disco with Queen Elsa and Spider-Man at Fairfield Park Community Hall, SG5 4GY. £5 entry, £3 for siblings. No need to book just pay on the door. In aid of Tree of Hope.

Tuesday 17th February

10-11.30am: Play session at the Fairfield Park Community Hall with two bouncy castles, lots of soft play, biscuit decorating and colouring stations. £3 entry includes refreshments.

10am, 12pm and 2.30pm: Junk modelling and stackable art at Dot to Dot. Pre-bookable 90 minute workshops suitable for children of all ages. £5 per child or £8 for two. To book a place please email frances@rhapsode.org.uk

10.30am-12pm: Stay and Play at the Spring Road Scout Hut. 50p donation for children’s centre play session with themed crafts. Aimed at 0-5s but older siblings welcome.

10.30am-12pm: Spring into art and craft at Oughton Children’s Centre. Suitable for children 2 years and above but younger siblings are welcome. £2 per family. Open to all but booking is required, please pop in to the centre to book.

11am: The Book of Life kids club film at Broadway Cinema.

11am-12pm and 2-3pm: Pancake day at the Secret Garden. Creating yummy pancake fillings and pancake racing. Suitable for all ages. £5 or £7.50 to include kids lunch.

11am-12.30pm: Ugly Bugs Ball at Icknield Infant and Nursery School. Fun bug themed activities, Disco Duck dancing party and party food included. Aimed at under 5s but older siblings welcome. Booking required so please call Icknield Children’s Centre on 01462 663100 or email admin.icknield@hertschildrenscentre.org.uk

2pm: free film and popcorn at The Secret Garden.

Wednesday 18th February

9.30-11am: Another open gym session at Marriotts Gymnastics. See Monday for details.

10am, 12pm and 2.30pm: Bookmaking at Dot to Dot. 90 minute workshop to create a sketchbook or journal and bind it. Poetry and writing included. £5 or two for £8. Email frances@rhapsode.org.uk to book a place.

10.30am-12pm: Stay and Play at the Jackmans Community Centre, Ivel Court. 50p donation for children’s centre play session with themed crafts. Aimed at 0-5s but older siblings welcome.

10.30am-12pm: Toddler tales and singalong at Oughton Children’s Centre. An interactive and fun story time with craft activity and singalong. Suitable for children under 5 years but older siblings are welcome. £2 per family. Open to all but booking is required, please pop in to the centre to book.

11am-12pm and 2-3pm: Junk crafting at the Secret Garden. £5 or £7.50 to include kids lunch.

1-2pm: Bug Explorers Walk at Norton Common. Meet at the park by the outdoor swimming pool. Free, no need to book.

2pm: free film and popcorn at The Secret Garden.

Thursday 19th February

10am-12pm: Baby Group at Chestnut Tree Children’s Centre, Radburn Way. Play session for pre-mobile babies. 50p donation, no need to book. Great activity for those of you with young babies if you find everywhere gets too busy during half term with older children as this session does not allow older siblings.

10am, 12pm and 2.30pm: Chinese New Year workshops at Dot to Dot. Print your own Chinese patterned papers and make your own zodiac animal. £5/£8 FOR 2. Book your place frances@rhapsode.org.uk

11am-12pm and 2-3pm: Newspaper art at the Secret Garden. £5 or £7.50 with a kids lunch.

11am: Frozen. Kids club film at Broadway Cinema.

11am-12.30pm: Chinese New Year activities at the Grange Scout Hut, Sparhawke, Letchworth. Fun activities including themed food, arts and crafts. Booking required, please call Icknield CC on 01462 663100 or email admin.icknield@hertschildrenscentre.org.uk

1.30-2.30pm: Kindy drama class at the Secret Garden for 3-5 year olds. £5.

2pm: free film and popcorn at The Secret Garden.

Friday 20th February

A day of gold at Dot to Dot. Drop-in sessions all day, donation only. Activities based on King Midas.

10-11am: Welly walk around the Oughton nature reserve. Meet at Smartys day nursery car park, Hitchin, SG5 2UZ. A free spring walk around the nature reserve and have fun finding things along the way with Oughton Children’s Centre. No need to book, just turn up. In the event of bad weather this may be cancelled so check with the centre before setting out,

10.30-11.45am: Messy play session at The Craft Cocoon. £3 for one child and only £1 per subsequent child.

10.30-11.30am: Play Music Play at Icknield Children’s Centre. £1. Families with children 0-5 from the Icknield and Grange area will be prioritised.

11am-12pm and 2-3pm Recycle and paint at the Secret Garden. Discover all the things you can recycle and paint with. £5 or £7.50 with lunch.

2pm: free film and popcorn at The Secret Garden.

Saturday 21st February

Drop-in crafts all day at Dot to Dot, donation only.

10.30am: Penguins of Madagascar. Kids club movie at Broadway Cinema.

Sunday 22nd February

Big Art Sunday at Dot to Dot.
